Kedarnath Temple

Kedarnath is a sacred town located in the Uttarakhand state of India, nestled in the Himalayas at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 feet). It is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites and is famous for the Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple, which dates back to the 8th century, attracts thousands of devotees every year, especially during the Kedarnath Yatra.The Kedarnath Temple stands as a remarkable example of ancient architecture, and the temple’s spiritual significance draws pilgrims from all over India and abroad. It is believed to have been built by Pandavas after the Mahabharata war and is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.

Badrinath Temple

Badrinath is one of the most revered pilgrimage towns in Uttarakhand, India, and a key site in the Char Dham Yatra. Situated at an altitude of 3,133 meters (10,279 feet) in the Garhwal Himalayas, Badrinath is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is among the 108 Divya Desams, the holy abodes of Vishnu. The town is renowned for the ancient Badrinath Temple, which dates back to the 8th century and is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus.

The temple is surrounded by spectacular mountain views, including the majestic Neelkanth Peak. The town is set along the banks of the Alaknanda River, adding to its scenic beauty. Tapt Kund, a hot spring located near the temple, is believed to have medicinal properties, and pilgrims take a dip here before entering the temple to cleanse themselves.

Badrinath is not just a place of religious significance but also a gateway to numerous trekking routes, including those leading to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib. The Badrinath Yatra usually runs from April to November, as the temple is closed during the harsh winter months.
